Students in grades 9 and 10 are eligible to take part in the NTSE program. They can prepare for the test also to their regular academics.

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is an examination for Class X pupils designed to find and foster talent. Any student who received a grade point average of 60 percent (General category) or 55 percent (Reserved category) in class IX can take the NTSE. Every year, the test is held at two levels: Stage I (State Level) and Stage II (National Level) (National Level). Students who pass Stage I will be able to sit for Stage II. Students of Indian origin are eligible for the program. All students enrolled in Class X in any government, or private school can take the Stage-I National Talent Search Examination from their home state. The state/UT can add any other qualifying criterion that the state/UT can add to appear in Stage-I, which is done at the state/UT level. Each state and union territory has a quota for stage II. Students of Indian origin studying abroad must have scored at least 60% in their last examination to apply for the National Talent Search Test. If a student is selected in the first stage, they must appear in Stage II, which NCERT administers.

Course Syllabus/ Eligibility

Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Students in the tenth grade may also apply for Stage 1.

A least 60% in Class IX is necessary. SC, ST, and PH students will need a minimum of 55% in Class IX.

A candidate must take an examination at a recognized school in their particular state or union territory.

Those enrolled in the Open Distance Learning (ODL) program will also be deemed eligible if they are under 18 (as of July 1, 2018) and unemployed when they take the Class 10th test.

To be deemed eligible, candidates must score at least 80% on the state-level test.

Every student who achieves the required minimum score in Stage II will be eligible for the scholarship program.

FAQ about NTSE Exam Career Training Center in Pondicherry

The NTSE is a two-tiered examination method. States and Union Territories administer the NTSE Stage One test (UT). The chosen applicants go to Stage Two, which NCERT issues. There will be no interviews.

The NCERT has not recommended a specific syllabus for the NTSE. NCERT administers the NTSE to students in the X level. The NTSE is divided into two groups:

MAT (Mental Ability Test)

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) (Scholastic Aptitude Test)

Each test has 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question includes four alternatives labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4. The applicant must choose one correct answer from the options offered and record its number on the provided answer sheet. Each correct answer receives one mark, whereas each incorrect response or unattempted question receives no impact.

Yes! The requirements for taking the NTSE have changed. Students in Class X are eligible to take the NTSE.

For NTSE Stage Two, there are three papers to complete, each with a time limit: Mental Ability Test of 50 questions (45 minutes), Language Test of 50 questions (45 minutes), and Scholastic Aptitude Test of 100 questions (90 minutes). For each test, They will supply three separate OMR sheets. The questions will have a secondary level of difficulty. There is, however, no set syllabus for the NTSE Stage Two paper.
